Our Story
The name Prati comes from Latin and means literally “from the meadow”. Inspired by the Mediterranean landscape of the Matarraña region, the project was created by Magda and Pieter, both artists with great love for artisan objects. Prati seeks to reconnect with nature through the sense of smell using pure essential oils blends and high-quality fragrances sourced in Grasse, France.
The Beginning

My story with Prati started when I first smelled a candle made with essential oils, I instantly fell in love with its warm aroma and felt it was the beginning of something special. I started researching the benefits of oils and using them in my daily life, learning how to create my own fragrances while experimenting with waxes, proportions, pouring temperatures, and slowly creating my own candles. I loved the fragrances but I was still on the look out for something that would make them even more special. And I found what I was looking for short after I met my partner, Pieter.

I would go visit him often in the region of Matarraña and I began to fall in love with its landscapes, plants, rivers, and it inspired me a lot when creating the brand identity for Prati. With time, Pieter joined me in the project and as a multidisciplinary artist, he added that special ingredient I was looking for Prati. We started to experiment with concrete vessels, and after many months of trial, we achieved the results we wanted to share. Beautiful hand-painted vessels with unique finish that elevate our candles to the next level.
Our dream
Our wish is to inspire people to create more beautiful moments with themselves or the people they love. We believe simple objects we surround ourselves with have a great influence on our well-being. Each thing we buy has its unique vibration and an artisan object made with love and care, comes with the good energy it was made with. We create with a dream at heart that each Prati candle you light will bring a bit of joy to your heart.
